Accessibility
Art inspires and enriches our lives, but it is not equally accessible to everyone. There can be barriers: physical barriers in the building, but also less visible ones. Do you feel welcome and at home in a museum, or not?
Visiting the museum
Planning a visit to Museum de Fundatie Zwolle? We are delighted to welcome you. Press on the button plan your visit, choose a location and there you will find all the practical information you need for a pleasant visit, including information for visitors using a wheelchair, walker or mobility scooter.
Are you coming with a companion or carer? They can enter the museum free of charge. Officially trained assistance dogs are also welcome in the museum.
Art without barriers
We are working hard to make our art and collection more accessible. Sometimes this means taking art beyond the walls of the museum and bringing it to people elsewhere: to other locations, into everyday life, or to people who are unable to visit the museum themselves.
Through our public programme, we introduce different groups of people to art and to our museums. We offer programmes for families, children and schools. For people with a visual impairment, we organise a sensory guided tour, allowing more people to experience and enjoy our exhibitions.
We hope that more and more people will feel welcome in our museum. With Fundatie Friday, we offer a free programme every month, because not everyone can afford to visit a museum. On Silent Sunday, visitors can experience the museum in a low-stimulus setting for one hour. This is especially intended for neurodivergent visitors and for anyone who enjoys a quieter museum experience. In this way, we continue to work towards a museum for everyone, and towards art without barriers.
