The sculpture garden surrounding Kasteel het Nijenhuis, one of the largest and most remarkable in the Netherlands, offers a fascinating overview of modern sculpture from the 20th and 21st centuries. In the formal garden, on the lawns and among the trees of the park around the castle, more than ninety sculptures by renowned artists from the Netherlands and abroad are on display. The sculptures come from the collections of Museum de Fundatie, Beelden aan Zee and the Province of Overijssel.

Museum de Fundatie has received a special loan from Museum Beelden aan Zee, consisting of around forty sculptures. We consider it a great honour to be able to show these works. Museum Beelden aan Zee is an important museum in the Netherlands, dedicated to modern and contemporary sculpture from the Netherlands and abroad.

At Kasteel het Nijenhuis, two collections now come together: the collection of Theo and Lida Scholten and the collection of Dirk Hannema. Together, these sculptures offer a rich and varied picture of the development of modern sculpture. Among the trees and on the lawns, visitors can discover sculptures from the late 18th century to the present day, by a wide range of artists, including:
