04-06-2024 - Deeply saddened, we have learned of the death of Q.S. Seraphim (1960-2024).
Q.S. is one of the artists invited by Maria Roosen to participate in our exhibition Roosen & Guests. His thoughtful, sharp and loving eye was particularly valuable in this. His watercolours can now be seen for a while at Kasteel het Nijenhuis. Q.S. His humour, creativity and free spirit continue to inspire us. Our thoughts are with his wife Anneloes, his family, friends, colleagues and all those who loved him.
Q.S. Serafijn was a visual artist and publicist. He created works for public spaces and started monumental watercolours in 2013. He also wrote columns and published several books.
'Every day I make one or two watercolours.
Sometimes it is a portrait of my dog,
sometimes it is hybrids (half man,
half woman), swimming costumes, sometimes a single flower.
Very often I listen to Sibelius. For example
to Tuonela's The Swan. Kierkegaard's
last words were 'Sweep me up'.
Goethe's: 'Mehr Licht.' I know only
few people as happy as I am.'
